I have four words for this book: “I fucking love it”. Pam Godwin is one of the most talented writers I have the pleasure to read. She is the female version of King Midas. Any book she writes become a successful not matter the genre. Everything she touches becomes gold. This time she gifts us the first book of The Tangled Lies Series, her new project.

One is a Promise is a well developed story. The plot is refreshing, full of lost love, sexual tension, attraction, lies, second chances and redemption. The story goes smoothly from present to the past and the pace is fast.

In this book the characters are immersed in a bunch of lies which will dictate their future. The story is about a woman who has lost her first love and she is trying to keep going with her life, trying to move on. And when she finally decides to take a new shot a Neanderthal, handsome and cocky man will turn her world upside down.

“You, my tiny dancer, are an erotic dream dipped in the sweetest honey. A man only needs to look at you to become fiercely protective of your smile.”

That arrogant man will do anything to have the woman he wants. But what happens when that woman is still in love with her ex fiancé? Danni Angelo and Trace Savoy will collide as two stars in the universe. The attraction between them is so intense. They are like a bomb ready to explode at any time.

“I’ve memorized every shimmy and thrust of your hips, the sensual movements of your arms, the flirtatious tosses of your head, and the limitless flexibility of your spine. You’re a flesh and muscle articulation of sex.”

Danni follows her dancing dreams to carry on with her life. She feels lost and without know it Trace will heal her in a kinky way. A deal will keep them together. Although Trace is going to be the one who will fight the attraction until he surrenders to his uncontrollable desires. Of course Danni is not a white dove.

“I’m attracted to him, and he sees me as nothing but a financial deal.”

Between the push and pull they will share hot and steamy moments. Danni is a strong woman with a broken heart and Trace is going to be her second chance to love but there is something about him that feels weird. He has to power to glue the pieces of her hearth together but at the same time he can broke her hearth again. A ghost from the past will threaten their future which was built in sweet little lies. And lies can destroy their fragile relationship.

I devoured this one in a short period of time. I didn’t want it end. I was lost and captivated from the first pages. It was full of surprises and twists that made me really anxious. I could not put it down until I finished it. At the end I almost had a heart attack. Pam Godwin has a precious gift and her writing always let me wanting more and this is not the exception.

I can’t wait to read the second book of this series. I enjoy every page. Pam Godwin’s writing is addictive. Her books are my special kind of heroine. This is a must read and I highly recommend to pick this baby. You will love this book as much as I did.
