OMG! Before I start my review, I want to congratulate R. Scarlett because her writing is improving to a high level. I’m glad for her. I was completely captured from the first book but and she didn’t disappointed me. The world she created is really refreshing. I can say that A vow of thorns is the most intense book I’ve read in these months. It has everything you crave in a really good book.
In Body of the Crime we learned some things about the demon world, some rules and guideless that demons must follow to please their King. Well, in this book, we will learn more about the High Court.
After Tensley marked Molly as his both will discover that they are powerful together. Molly lost her virginity to him, finally enjoying what she craved. The passion that they will share will be shadowed by the enemies who will be more powerful and lethal.
“How can I be the cruel demon to serve my men and my king, and still touch her with the softest, holiest caresses of devotion?"
Things will have to be rush in their relationship because of many issues. Tensley and Molly will have to travel to the Court to please Fallen, but this unexpected request is happening in the wrong moment because his people and family need him to become the Dux of Scorpions. Having responsibilities with his people and his King will put him and Molly in danger.
“My instinct is to protect you,” he whispered against her earlobe. “I’m sorry I sometimes forget my dolcezza has claws and venom of her own.”
At this point of the series, Molly is becoming a stronger woman who adores her man. She has accepted him as her partner and she understands what his priorities are. She has loosen her fears and she will prove to him that he can trust her and believes they are equals. Tensley's world opened her eyes to things that she never tough she will crave. She also has darkness deep inside. Dolcezza is not more a timid kitty, she is a lionesses.
“She wasn’t afraid of blood; she wasn’t afraid of pain. She was afraid of losing the man before her.”
Vow of thorns is definitely my favourite book of this series. It has unexpected twists that made me crave for more. Let the poetic writing of the author seduce you. If you are eager to try the paranormal and suspense genre, the Blackest Gold Series are a good option for you.
“A vow of thorns. A vow of a heart. A vow of death.”

They say that you should not judge a book by its cover
but there are some exceptions and Vein of
love is one of them. When you decide to read a book there are some things
that make you chose it. In my case some of them are the blurb and the cover.
This time the sexy cover of this book won and to my surprise I find a good
reading full of suspense, drama, and thrilling and intriguing situations that
had me at the edge. Cliff-hanger alert!
Vein of love is the first book of the Blackest Gold Series and is
the debut book of R. Scarlett. The storyline is good. Prepare yourself to dive
into the demons’ world. Here the villains will show us a different world full
of action, intrigue and passion that make this book an entertaining read. Although
paranormal genre is not what I usually read, I really enjoyed this book. The
plot is unique, eloquent and provoking. Each sequence made me dive deep into
the paranormal world created in this story. Who would say that demons were
sexy?
A contract between two families from different worlds
will dictate the future of the main characters. This contract was supposed to
help both families. One will earn protection and the other one will get power. The
contract will affect the destiny of a girl who is oblivious of what is expected
from her and worst things are coming her way, disguised in a cocky demon who
claims to be her fiancé. Afraid to be taken and consumed by this monster, she
will try to escape her destiny.
Molly has always known she was different although her
parents did everything to make her life normal. Her internship at an art museum
and her beloved ones have given her a plentiful life until she was attacked and
saved by a demon who will turn her world upside down.
"Darkness isn’t all one shade,
sweetheart.”
Tensley Knight is the definition of loftiness and
arrogance. He is a heartless demon that will not let any emotion consume him.
He will avoid at any cost any emotion that could cloud his judgement. Not even
his gorgeous fiancé. His priority is always his family pride.
"You're going to destroy me, sweetheart. Unless I
destroy you first."
Molly and Tensley are quite intense. At the beginning
of their “relationship” everything indicates that they don’t tolerate each
other. The obligation to fulfil the
contract made by their predecessors is something that stops them from giving up
into the attraction that both are trying to hide. Lies and intrigues will add a
bittersweet twit to this story.
"There’s no hero here, only a
villain. Don’t expect chivalry from me, because it’s dead”
Overall, Vein of
Love has a refreshing plot.

After reading Vein
of Love I was really anxious. R. Scarlett made me addicted to her writing.
I know this is her first series and believe me she did a really good job with
the underworld she created. More lies, betrayals and lies will plague Body of the crime, the second book of
the Blackest Gold Series.
In this book we will enjoy the evolution of the main
characters. After Molly and Tensley accepted their fate, things between them
will improve just a bit. Tensley is afraid to involve Molly in a world is not
for someone so pure like her. He does not want to corrupt her. She deserves
more than a heartless beast. The attraction is harder to resist and he will
wait for the right moment to mark her as his although that decision will put
her in danger. Molly’s safety is his
priority, because other demons could stole her and mark her.
“Because she didn’t choose this life,
and once I’ve marked her she’ll never be free of a husband who can’t give her
what she truly desires: love. Emotion. Affection.”
Following that thought, Tensley will try to stay away
from her but the pressure of his father and family will not give him the time
to postpone the inevitable. His union with the daemon is imminent, so he must
act fast and mark her to protect her. The push and pull between those is something
I loved of this book. Tensley internal battle will be the watershed that will
give him the true meaning to his priorities. It’s a battle between duty and
emotions. Emotions that mean nothing until Molly stormed his life.
“He’d ruin her slowly, so slowly, that
she’d be addicted to him.”
Trust is the important thing between them. Molly’s
decisions only made Tensley not to trust her completely.
“Sometimes we can’t help how we feel;
sometimes we’re cursed to be drawn to the wrong people.”
In this book we will discover more about the rules of
the demon underworld. The death of enemies and new alliances will only give a
greater force to the story. Giving into the most the most intimate desires will
give them some peace in a chaotic world. Molly, the heroine, will prove that
she really wants to work out the fragile relationship that linked her with
Tensley. She will accept her desires for Tensley and she will fight to win the
man and beast for herself.
I personally loved the little comparison made to Hades
and Persephone. I’m a fan of the Greece culture. This is getting much better.
As the title of the book refer to a body, prepare yourself to enjoy a lot of
passion, intensity and desire.
